You can see these observations in iNaturalist in a project called&nbsp;<strong>Bull Creek Austin Texas<\/strong>&nbsp;(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas<\/a>2(11.8%)).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, 271 observers logged over 2,600 observations of 774 unique species of plants, bird, insects, mammals, and fungi.&nbsp; In 2021, the Bull Creek iNaturalist project logged:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>408 plant species<\/li><li>207 insect species<\/li><li>59 species of fungus<\/li><li>24 birds species<\/li><li>23 reptiles<\/li><li>8 species of fish<\/li><li>7 mammal species, including two ringtail observations<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The five most frequently observed plant species the past year were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>cedar sage&nbsp;<em>(Salvia roemeriana)<\/em><\/li><li>Lindheimer\u2019s silktassel&nbsp;<em>(Garrya lindheimeri)<\/em><\/li><li>buttonbush&nbsp;<em>(Cephalanthus occidentalis)<\/em><\/li><li>Texas milkweed&nbsp;<em>(Asclepias texana)<\/em><\/li><li>Engelmann daisy&nbsp;<em>(Engelmannia peristenia)<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>While plant species dominated the observations, observers did see things that fly, crawl, and swim as well.&nbsp; The most observed non-plant species were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>juniper hairstreak<em>&nbsp;(Callphrys gryneus)<\/em><\/li><li>Kiowa dancer<em>&nbsp;(Argia immunda)<\/em><\/li><li>northern cardinal&nbsp;<em>(Cardinalis cardinalis)<\/em><\/li><li>common spotted whiptail<em>&nbsp;(Aspidoscelis gularis)<\/em><\/li><li>Texas spiny lizard&nbsp;<em>(Sceloporus olivaceus)<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Observers also logged three species classified as threatened:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>stretchberry<em>&nbsp;(Forestiera pubescens)<\/em>, also known as desert olive or elbowbush (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=fopup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=fopup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=fopup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=fopup\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=fopup<\/a>4(23.5%))<\/li><li>&nbsp;chuck-will\u2019s-widow&nbsp;<em>(Antrostomus carolinensis)&nbsp;<\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/ebird.org\/species\/chwwid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/ebird.org\/species\/chwwid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/ebird.org\/species\/chwwid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/ebird.org\/species\/chwwid\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/ebird.org\/species\/chwwid<\/a>3(17.6%))<\/li><li>&nbsp;Texas ash&nbsp;<em>(Fraxinus albicans)<\/em>&nbsp;also know as mountain ash (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=FRAL3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=FRAL3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=FRAL3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=FRAL3\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/result.php?id_plant=FRAL3<\/a>4(23.5%))<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When you need to stay at home in bad weather, explore these observations in the Bull Creek iNaturalist project at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/bull-creek-austin-texas<\/a>3(17.6%).
